Have you lost a loved one? Do you feel you have nowhere to turn to with your grief, no one who listens to you and understands?
Bereavement is one of the hardest times of life, and without support, grief can be suppressed leading to an increased sense of loss and physical or mental health issues.
The Bereavement Journey is a 6 week course that will gently guide you through the more common aspects of grief, whether you have a faith or not, and explore ways of coping and moving forward.
We are running the course again this year at St Lawrence Church, every Thursday from 12th September 2024 to 24th October at 2:00pm.
Although developed by a church, the course is open to all, regardless of faith, or absence of faith. There is a seventh optional session, for participants to choose if they would like, to discuss their bereavement in the context of their own faith.
Topics include:
- Attachment, separation and loss
- The pain and responses of grief
- Anger and guilt
- Coping with others’ reactions
- Delayed and suppressed grief
- Adjusting to change
- Moving forward healthily
This is very much a course about self healing through your own journey with grief. It is not counselling. The volunteers are Mo Elliott, Rector Richard Coleman and Anne Farnsworth. The course is free although a small charge is made for the manual.
The course is now fully booked, but if you would like to be informed the next time we run the course then please let us know using the form below.
