Here are some of the events and services that we have coming up in the next month or so …

Thanksgiving for Loved Ones

Each year on the first Sunday in November at Gotham Church we hold a service at which we remember our loved ones who have died, and there is an opportunity to light a candle in their memory. It doesn’t matter how long ago they died or whether their funeral took place in the church, we hope that you will take the opportunity to come and honour their memory and remember them with gratitude.
This year the service is at 5:00pm on Sunday 3rd November.

Remembrance Sunday

Each year we hold a service on Remembrance Sunday, where we remember and give thanks for all the men and women from the Armed services of two world wars, as well as modern day conflicts, who have given their lives defeating evil and protecting life.
This year we have Remembrance Sunday services on Sunday 10th November at 10:45am at Kingston, and Thrumpton.
At Gotham, it has been agreed with the Parish Council that there will be a service at 9:30am in St Lawrence Church and we will then join with the rest of the village in the Memorial Hall at 10:55am for the Act of Remembrance and the laying of wreaths.

Shoebox Collection

Each year we take part in Operation Christmas Child and we invite members of our churches and folk in our villages to fill a shoebox for a child who may not otherwise receive anything this Christmas.
Never underestimate the power of a simple gift.
The deadline for the collection this year is Gotham’s Gathering service on Sunday 24th November at 11:00am.
